BIO / Becky Shim Paguia
Becky is an award-winning designer with decades of experience in fine arts and the fashion industry. With Others New York, she is combining her style and eclectic and grounded taste in fashion with her skills as a making the best use of her God given tools, to create objects that will hopefully inspire and delight their viewers and interactions.
Becky Shim Paguia studied Visual Arts at Rice University with a concentration in sculpture and installation. She then moved from Houston, Texas to New York City and pursued fashion styling before going back to school for accessory design at Cordwainer’s - London College of Fashion. After ten plus years working as an accessory designer and then a hiatus to start a family, Becky is returning to her first love of creating with her hands.
Combining her appreciation for unexpected quirks in design, a bit of whimsy, fantasy and biographical context (Korean-American, fashion fiend, vocational hostess)- Becky creates objects she hopes will bring delight and be cherished by their owners for years to come.
